Crash kills Cape Girardeau man

A single-vehicle crash in Scott County claimed the life of a Cape Girardeau man this afternoon.
The crash, which occurred at 2:40 p.m. on County Road 411 about a mile and half south of Oran, killed 61-year-old Victor E. Isaacs and injured two Sikeston men.
According to a preliminary report filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Isaacs was driving south in a 1989 Ford when the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway. Isaacs apparently overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn on the road.
Scott County Coroner Scott Amick pronounced Isaacs dead at 2:45 p.m. Two passengers, William M. Grogan, 33, and Christian M. Grogan, 28, both suffered serious injuries in the crash. They were taken to St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau for treatment. According to the Highway Patrol none of the men were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
